This parts list should help anyone that is looking to compile the right parts for building a TH400 for mid 9 second et's.In most applications this is what will work.It is not meant to be the absolute authority on the trans,just to answer this commonly asked question so you have a direction to go in with the project.
- 5 or 6 Borg Warner Hi Energy forward clutches.
- 5 or 6 Borg Warner Hi Energy direct clutches.
- 3 Borg Warner stock waved paper intermediate clutches.
- Stock steels,preferably the original Intermediate wave plate for 2nd gear.
- Aluminum clutch pistons for the forward,direct and intermediate clutch packs.
- A 34 element sprag and direct clutch drum with spiral retaining ring.
- A billet forward clutch hub ,fitted with roller bearing if possible.
- A torrington bearing installed between the output shaft flange and case.
- Resin washer to be installed between the planetary carriers.
- Graphite seal rings for the pump and center support.
- A complete set of end play washers.
- A complete set of bushings.
- A new # 22 thrust bearing.
- A hi flow brass filter.
- A quality gasket and seal kit.
