GM700R4 GENERAL TRANSMISSION INFORMATION
The GM700R4 transmission was standard equiptment in GM medium duty cars trucks and vans throughout from early 1984 to early 1993 .It has proven itself to be a reliable performer on the street and dragstrip with the proper modifications.The 1987 and later models recieved some major internal upgrades and it is these select cores that provide the foundation for our high performance remaufactured transmissions.The stock case will mate to all Chevrolet small and big block engines but it can easily be adapted to most Buick,Oldsmobile,Pontiac and Cadillac engines with the use of our aluminum bellhousing adapter.All of our GM700R4 transmissions are bench tested,dyno tested,and then installed and tested in our test vehicle prior to being placed in inventory.This assures you get the best product performance available.Look over our build sheets and prices.No one out there is giving you a better engineered package at any price. We dont sell options,we include them.Hardened input shaft and steel reinforced input drum is standard on all of our transmission build ups.We are the only company to offer 2.84 first gear planetary set and are the originators of the CNC machined steel billet output shaft for this transmission.We are constantly researching and developing products for this transmission ,and have a fully staffed CNC machine shop to develop prototype parts as well as manufacture them. RETRO FITTING A GM700R4 TRANSMISSION
This transmission can easily be retro fitted to most rear wheel and four wheel drive vehicles originally equipt with a GM Powerglide,GMTH350,or GMTH400 transmission.Upgrading your 2 or 3 speed automatic transmission equipt street car with the GM700R4 4 speed automatic transmission will greatly improve your cars performance and fuel economy.A brutal increase in first and second gear accelleration is realized due to the added torque multiplication of the numerically lower planetary gear set .Increased top end mile per hour and fuel economy is added due to the overdrive ratio and the lock up torque converter.The overdrive ratio will make your 3.73:1 rear end ratio a 2.64:1 and your 4.11:1 rear end ratio a 2.91:1 when driving in overdrive/fourth gear.The lock up torque converter also permits the use of higher stall speeds for maximum perfomance without the ill effects of the reduced coupling efficiency common with most non lock up style torque converters at cruise speed.When applied the lock up clutch in the converter locks the crankshaft and input shaft together resulting in zero slip in the converters fluid coupling.No computer is necessary for the transmission to function properly in non stock applications.Custom installation kits are available for retro fitting which includes a tv cable,a tv cable bracket,a tv cable to carbuerator mounting stud,cross member(if required)and a filler tube and dipstick.Just phone in with your intended application and our knowledgable technical staff will advise you as to what is necessary to make it all work.

This transmission was produced with four different output shaft lengths,four different transmission cases,2 different output shaft yokes and 3 different speedometer gear configurations. The Stage 1 700R4 is built for street, and strip vehicles behind  small and big block Chevrolet engines producing up to 400 foot pounds of torque without nitrous oxide or forced induction.

STAGE 2 700R4 TRANSMISSIONS
The Stage 2 700R4 is built for street and strip vehicles behind  small and big block Chevrolet  engines producing up to 500 foot pounds of torque with nitrous oxide or forced induction.

The Stage 3 700R4 is built for street and strip vehicles behind small and big block Chevrolet engines producing up to 600 foot pounds of torque with nitrous oxide or forced induction.

Increased line and lubrication pressures. Rebuilt front pump with hardened stator,10 vane pump rotor,new pump vanes,hardened  vane rings,heavy duty pump slide springs, .555" CNC machined t.v. boost valve, .296" intermediate boost valve,enlarged drainback passages and heavy duty pressure control spring.Modified converter lock up circuit improves converter durability. Custom calibrated valve body and governor assembly.

7R4C/SS 12" STREET CONVERTER                            $299.00
This 12" lock up converter is  for high performance street applications.Each unit is custom built to any stall speed between 1800 and 2800 rpms. The converter is assembled with a heavy duty woven fiber lock up clutch, oversize needle bearings, furnace brazed fins and a hardened hub and will handle up to 400 foot pounds of torque.


7R4C/SS1 10.5" STREET/STRIP CONVERTER            $599.00
This 10.5"lock up  converter is designed for high performance street and strip applications. Each unit is custom built to any stall speed between 2500 and 3800 rpms.Its unique design makes it more efficient in the lower rpm ranges when cruising making it a true high performance street converter . The converter is assembled with a new heavy duty sprag,CNC machined stator assembly,heavy duty woven fiber lock up clutch, oversize needle bearings, furnace brazed fins and a hardened hub and will handle up to 550 foot pounds of torque.

This 9.5" dual disc lock up converter is designed for extreme duty street and strip applications.Converter features a CNC machined steel billet front cover and 2 lock up disks,allowing wide open throttle lock up of the converter clutch. Each unit is custom built to any stall speed between 2500 and 4500 rpms.Its unique design makes it more efficient in the lower rpm ranges when cruising making it a true high performance street converter.The converter is assembled with a new heavy duty sprag,CNC machined stator assembly,dual heavy duty woven fiber lock up clutch disks, oversize needle bearings, furnace brazed fins,rear anti ballooning plate and a hardened hub and will handle well over 800 foot pounds of torque.



GM700R4 CONVERSION KITS
 
GM700R4 OVERDRIVE CONVERSION KIT FOR 67,68 AND 69 CHEVROLET CAMARO
If you are looking to convert  your 3 speed automatic TH350 or TH400 equipt 67,68 or 69 Camaro to a 4 speed overdrive automatic with lock up converter,this kit will make it happen.After completing several successful conversion we now offer this in kit form for the home mechanic or automotive service center.The kit includes a remanufactured  Stage 1 700R4 transmission (Part # 700R4-1/SS) rated at 550lbs./ft. and a high stall 12"  Street Converter (Part # 7R4C/SS) with flexplate mounting  bolts .There are a few items needed to install this transmission and they are all included.A tailshaft with revised transmission mount location and a new transmission mount with bolts allow the transmission to mount to the original crossmember which is simply rotated 180 degrees from its original position.There is no drilling or banging required.A new dipstick with locking cap fits the chassis perfect and allows for easy access to the stick for filling the transmission and checking oil level.A new throttle valve cable,cable mounting bracket ,and cable end attaching stud for you application are also included.The transmission is assembled with the proper speedometer gears for your application,as well as a new converter inspection cover. The lock up is internally wired to operate in overdrive range and unlocks instantly when downshifting .You only need to run 12 volts to the transmission case and there is no need to run it thru the brake switch.The original transmission lines and shifter bracket bracket can also be used and the original shifter will easily grab the extra low gear position of the 700R4 transmission.On your end you will have to shorten the driveshaft as well as replace the yoke if you are removing a TH400.If the car has a TH350 you can use the same yoke.Anyone needing assistance with a conversion can phone in and our technical support will help you get the job done .Packages with Stage 2 and 3 transmissions as well as different converters will be added shortly.
