4L60E/4L65E GENERAL TRANSMISSION INFORMATION

The GM 4L60E/4L65E is an electronically controlled 4 speed automatic transmission with a lock up torque converter.The GM 4L65E is a factory updated version of the original GM4L60E design.  The production gear ratios are: 3.06/1.63/1.0/.70 overdrive. It began production in 1993 and is currently still in production and installed in various cars and trucks. It is mechanically similar to the GM 700R4 transmission but uses various electronic shift solenoids, sensors and a control module (computer) to control shift scheduling and line pressure. Be sure to specify engine and vehicle type when ordering. All standard Chevrolet 4L60E transmissions do not  require a core charge .All LS style  transmissions require a $300.00 core charge. If the original transmission is not returned or the core is not rebuildable,the customer is responsible for the core charge.

The stage 1 4L60E/4L65E is built for engines producing up to 450 foot pounds of  torque.

STAGE 2 4L60E/4L65E TRANSMISSION
The stage 2 4L60E/4L65E is built for engines producing up to 650 foot pounds of torque.



STAGE 1 4L60E/4L65E TRANSMISSION

The stage 1 4L60E/4L65E is built for engines producing up to 500 foot pounds of torque.All of our 4L60E/4L65E transmissions are built with a"BRAND NEW " GM valve body assembly,and all new electrical solenoids and sensors. Each transmission is professionally assembled and then given a rigorous series of  tests on our dynamometer to guarantee flawless performance prior to shipping.

COMPETITION COMPONENTS
Steel reinforced input drum. Stress relieved and heat treated input shaft.Corvette servo. Rear planetary pinion carrier with oil dam.” Beast” sun gear shell.Rollerized and heat treated reaction tube. New factory deep pan and high flow filter.
CLUTCH AND BAND UPGRADES
Oversize red lined racing band with welded anchors. All new clutches and steels plates.Custom 8 friction 3-4 clutch pack with .106” steels. New 4L65E 29 element  input sprag and lo roller clutch assemblies. Custom 2nd and 4th gear apply piston return springs.
HYDRAULIC UPGRADES
Brand new GM valve body. Increased line and lubrication pressures.New 13 vane pump rotor ,new pump vanes,hardened vane rings and heavy duty pump slide springs.CNC machined performance steel line boost valve. Brand new AC/DELCO custom calibrated valve body and seperator plate. 
 
NEW ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS
New AC/DELCO internal transmission wiring harness, shift solenoids,lock up solenoid,3/2 solenoid,PWM solenoid ,and pressure manifold body.

The stage 2 4L60E/4L65E is built for engines producing up to 750 foot pounds of torque.All of our 4L60E/4L65E transmissions are built with a"BRAND NEW " GM valve body assembly,and all new electrical solenoids and sensors.E4340 steel billet output shaft standard equiptment on all units at no additional cost. Each transmission is professionally assembled and then given a rigorous series of  test on our dynamometer to guarantee flawless performance prior to shipping.

Stress relieved and heat treated input shaft.Corvette servo.CNC machined 4th gear servo cover and CNC billet aluminum oversized 4th gear servo piston.CNC machined 300M steel billet band anchor pin. Five pinion front and rear planetary carriers.”Beast” sun gear shell. Rollerized and heat treated reaction tube.  New factory deep pan and high flow filter. New 4L65E input sprag and lo roller clutch assemblies.CNC machined E4340 steel billet output shaft; a CK Performance exclusive.

Custom 8 friction 3-4 clutch pack with .106” steels.Custom 2nd and 4th gear apply piston return springs.Modified input drum for improved 3/4 clutch pack performance.
