Input housing cracking and input shaft breakage are common failures when using the 700R4/4L60E transmission for high torque applications.This kit addresses the issues by increasing the strength of these 2 troubled areas. The drum is reinforced at its weak point by shrinking a stainless steel insert over this area to reduce fatigues that result in cracking.Torsional twist and fatigue failures occur  across transverse oil holes,oil seal grooves and fillets on the input shaft.The input shaft is put through a heat treating procedure that hardens its molecular structure reducing breakage at its weak areas and then recieves a black oxide finish.Includes modified overrun piston machined to fit over the stainless steel.

The only E4340 steel billet output shaft for the GM 700R4 transmission.Fully machined on CNC lathe ,mill and gear shaper.Then heat treated to 50-52 Rockwell and precision ground.Recommended for any application over 450 foot pounds of torque.

All GM 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions were fitted with 4 pinion front planetary carriers on the assembly line .When subjected to torque loads in excess of 350 foot pounds the carrier has reached its structural and mechanical design limitations and can fail. In 2001 GM introduced the 4L65E transmission and with it came an updated 5 pinion front planetary carrier .This original equipment carrier increases its torque transmitting capability to over 600 foot pounds .This was accomplished through the addition of one planetary pinion gear, revision of the carriers structure, and improved metallurgy. This part should be installed in all transmission behind engines producing in excess of 400 foot pounds of torque.

ROLLERIZED HEAT TREATED REACTION TUBE #7R4CC/RRT               $139.00
Factory reaction tubes are prone to twisting when subjected to torque loads in excess of 350 foot pounds. This updated reaction tube is specially heat treated to eliminate twisting. It is also outfitted with a roller bearing that replaces the factory installed metal thrust washer. This bearing reduces internal friction and horsepower loss created and consumed during normal internal component rotation. Its enlarged lube passage improves rear gear set oiling and its black oxide finish reduces rear sun gear bushing wear. This part should be installed in all transmission behind engines producing in excess of 350 foot pounds of torque
