TRANSMISSION
This transmission can easily be retro fitted to most rear wheel and four wheel drive vehicles originally equipt with a GM Powerglide,GMTH350,or GMTH400 transmission.Upgrading your 2 or 3 speed automatic transmission equipt street car with the GM700R4 4 speed automatic transmission will greatly improve your cars performance and fuel economy.A brutal increase in first and second gear accelleration is realized due to the added torque multiplication of the numerically lower planetary gear set .Increased top end mile per hour and fuel economy is added due to the overdrive ratio and the lock up torque converter.The overdrive ratio will make your 3.73:1 rear end ratio a 2.64:1 and your 4.11:1 rear end ratio a 2.91:1 when driving in overdrive/fourth gear.The lock up torque converter also permits the use of higher stall speeds for maximum perfomance without the ill effects of the reduced coupling efficiency common with most non lock up style torque converters at cruise speed.When applied the lock up clutch in the converter locks the crankshaft and input shaft together resulting in zero slip in the converters fluid coupling.No computer is necessary for the transmission to function properly in non stock applications.Custom installation kits is available for retro fitting which includes a tv cable,a tv cable bracket,a tv cable to carbuerator mounting stud,cross member(if required)and a filler tube and dipstick.Just phone in with your intended application and our knowledgable technical staff will advise you as to what is necessary to make it all work.
