COMPETITION  TH400 TRANSMISSIONS
At CK Perfomance we are constantly performing research and development to improve and update our products.Our TH400 product line is unique.Our valve bodies and CNC machined internal components are propietary designs specific to our product line.Our power ratings on the transmissions we sell are based on flywheel horsepower and torque ratings.The ratings are conservative but are made with maximum performance and component life in mind.It is not uncommon for a custom to place our basic TH400 in a 1000 hosepower car and get satisfactory component life out of it.However ,this is not how we like to select a transmission for your application.Hard parts can and do fail and we highly recommend you follow our guidelines when making your selection.Please phone in and we can discuss your application as well as custom builds that dont match the information presented here.All of our transmission,regardless of power output,are assembled with maximum capacity clutch packs and needle bearing updates.2nd gear start transbrake is available at no extra charge.Be sure to check out our custom gear ratio options below for special applications.All transmissions receive thorough dyno testing before leaving our facility to guarantee a quality product is sent out to our customers.

INTENEDED USAGE: Street and dragstrip.Bracket racing.Most naturally aspirated 350 to 454 CID SMALL BLOCK,454 to 502 CID BIG BLOCK engines.
COMPETITION COMPONENTS
E4340 steel billet input shaft.CKPERFORMANCE EXCLUSIVE direct drum with 34 element sprag and spiral retaining ring,  A custom bronze bushing is fitted to the inside diameter of the drum.The drum end outside diameter of the forward clutch hub is precision ground to fit the inside diameter of the bushing.Becuase the forward clutch hub is held on cemter by the mainshaft the direct drum is forced to run on center.Heavy duty intermediate clutch snap ring.Custom intermediate snap ring support for manual shift units. Rollerized forward clutch hub, planetary gear set, and output shaft. Heat treated stator tube.New factory deep pan and high flow filter.

Maximum capacity clutch packs with extra clutches standard on all GMTH400 transmissions.Borg Warner "HIGH ENERGY" 6 clutch  forward ,6 clutch direct, and 4 clutch intermediate clutch packs. New carbon fiber front and rear band.Updated forward ,intermediate and direct clutch 1 piece return spring assemblies.

Line pressure set to 170 psi.Modified converter charge circuit eliminates converter caused engine main thrust bearing problems and converter balloning problems. . Solid graphite sealing rings installed on the pump and center support. INTENEDED USAGE:  Street and dragstrip.Sportsman racing.Most naturally aspirated 400 to 454 CID SMALL BLOCK,454 to 600 CID BIG BLOCK engines.May also be used for some 350 to 502 CID  N20,TURBOCHARCHED,and SUPERCHARGED engines.
