FORD C6 GENERAL TRANSMISSION INFORMATION
The Ford C6 transmission was produced between the early 1970's and early 1990's and was mainly used as a heavy duty automatic transmission for cars,vans,pick ups and trucks.The standard gear ratios are 2.46:1 first gear,1.46:1 second gear, and 1:1 third gear.For a brutal increase in off the line accelleration it can be ordered with our custom ratio 2.72:1/1.54:1 planetary gear set. It has proven itself to be a reliable performer on the street and dragstrip with the proper modifications.There are 4 types of cases for the Ford C6 transmission.The first type fits 289,302,351C,or 351W engines.The second type fits 351M,400,429 and 460 engines.The third type fits 332,352,390,406,427,and 428 engines.The fourth type fits diesel engines.The standard tailshaft length is 13.5",unless it is a four wheel drive application.When ordering be sure to specify the proper engine and extension housing type for your application.There is a core charge that will be added to your purchase price. If a good usable transmission core is returned to us at the time of purchase there will not be a core charge.If the transmission is being shipped you will be charged the core charge and will be credited when we receive the core . Type 1 case is $100.00,Type 2 is $225.00,and the Types 3 and 4 are $275.00. STAGE 2 FORD C6 TRANSMISSION The Stage 1 Ford C6 transmission is built for engines producing up to 1200 foot pounds of torque.

The Stage 1 Ford C6 transmission is built for heavy duty towing,street/strip and limited drag racing vehicles with engines producing up to 500 foot pounds of torque.Each transmission is professionally assembled and then given a thorough dyno test to ensure flawless performance prior to shipping.
