| GENERAL TRANSMISSION DESCRIPTION: THE GM2004R TRANSMISSION CONSISTS PRIMARILY OF A THREE- ELEMENT TORQUE CONVERTER WITH THE ADDITION OF A CONVERTER CLUTCH (IF ORDERING WITH LOCK-UP OPTION). FIVE MULTIPLE DISK CLUTCH PACKS, TWO ROLLER CLUTCHES, AND ONE BAND PROVIDE THE HOLDING ELEMENTS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN THE DESIRED FUNCTION OF THE COMPOUND PLANETARY GEAR SET AND OVERDRIVE UNIT. THE STANDARD GEAR RATIO IS: FIRST GEAR- 2.74:1, SECOND GEAR- 1.57:1, THIRD GEAR- 1:1, AND FOURTH GEAR (OVERDRIVE)-.67:1. THIS UNIT IS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT IN THE BUICK GRAND NATIONAL, BUICK GNX, BUICK T/TYPE, MONTE CARLO SS, HURST OLDS, OLDS 442, CAPRICE, IMPALA, AND MANY OTHER GM MID AND FULL-SIZED VEHICLES. EASILY RETRO FITS MANY OTHER GM VEHICLES ORIGINALLY EQUIPED WITH POWER GLIDE, TH200, TH250, TH350, AND TH400 TRANSMISSIONS. WITH ITS LIGHT WEIGHT, LOW ROTATING MASS, AND LOWER GEAR RATIOS, YOU CAN EXPECT INCREASED VEHICLE
ACCELERATION, REDUCED FUEL CONSUMPTION, AND INCREASED TOP END SPEED WHEN RETROFITTING. THE STANDARD CASE WILL MATE TO CHEVROLET, BUICK, OLDSMOBILE, PONTIAC, AND CADILLAC ENGINES. THROUGH THE USE OF REMOVABLE BELL HOUSINGS AND ADAPTER PLATES, THE STANDARD CASE CAN BE MODIFIED TO MATE TO FORD SMALL AND BIG BLOCK, CHRYSLER SMALL AND BIG BLOCK, MAZDA 13B ROTARY, TOYOTA 5MG, AND NISSAN RB26 ENGINES. 1 - THE 2004R STAGE I IS A STREET AND STRIP MANUAL/AUTOMATIC SHIFT TRANSMISSION. THE STAGE I IS BUILT SPECIFICALLY AS A HEAVY DUTY STOCK REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION FOR THE BUICK GRAND NATIONAL, BUICK GNX, BUICK T/TYPE, MONTE CARLO SS, HURST OLDS, OLDS 442, AND MANY OTHER GM MID-SIZED VEHICLES.
INTERNAL COMPONENTS AND FEATURES: TEN VANE PUMP WITH STEEL RINGS, .470 LINE BOOST VALVE, .270 INTERMEDIATE BOOST VALVE, NEW PRESSURE CONTROL SPRING, NEW HEAT TREATED STATOR SHAFT, TEFLON FRONT
PUMP BUSHING, AND NON-LOCK-UP VALVE; IF APPLICABLE. FORWARD DRUM IS WELD REINFORCED AND HEAT TREATED TO REDUCE SHAFT BREAKAGE, AND HOLDS FIVE RED RACING FRICTIONS VS. THE FACTORY FOUR. INTERMEDIATE BAND IS HI-ENERGY LINED AND IS ACTIVATED BY A HIGH PERFORMANCE INTERMEDIATE SERVO ASSEMBLY. 3-4 DRUM IS FITTED WITH EIGHT RED RACING FRICTIONS VS. THE FACTORY SIX. OVERDRIVE CLUTCH PACK CONTAINS THREE HI-ENERGY FRICTIONS VS. THE FACTORY TWO. HEAT TREATED SUN SHELL ELIMINATES SPLINE STRIPPING FAILURES. CENTER SUPPORT IS FITTED WITH SOLID TEFLON SEALING RINGS TO ELIMINATE DRUM DAMAGE AND CLUTCH FAILURE. INPUT SHAFT AND FORWARD DRUM ALSO FEATURE SOLID TEFLON SEALING RINGS TO ELIMINATE INTERNAL HYDRAULIC LEAKS AND CLUTCH FAILURE. VALVE BODY IS COMPLETELY RECALIBRATED WITH NEW SEPARATOR PLATE, ACCUMULATOR VALVE, THROTTLE VALVE AND SPRING, HIGH PERFORMANCE THROTTLE VALVE PLUNGER ASSEMBLY, CUSTOM SHIFT VALVE SPRINGS, HIGH PERFORMANCE GOVERNOR ASSEMBLY, AND MODIFIED ACCUMULATOR HOUSING WITH NEW PISTON AND SPRING.

IS A STREET AND STRIP MANUAL/ AUTOMATIC SHIFT TRANSMISSION
BUILT FOR ENGINES PRODUCING UP TO 650HP (PLEASE NOTE THAT
SEVERAL OF OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE SUCCESSFULLY EXCEEDED THE
STAGE II RATING BY OVER 100HP). IT IS AVAILABLE WITH FULL
MANUAL AND TRANSBRAKE VALVE BODIES.
INTERNAL COMPONENTS AND FEATURES:
13 VANE "CONSTANT DISPLACEMENT" PUMP WITH STEEL RINGS, .500
LINE BOOST VALVE, .296 INTERMEDIATE BOOST VALVE, NEW
PRESSURE CONTROL SPRING, NEW HEAT TREATED STATOR SHAFT,
TEFLON FRONT PUMP BUSHING, AND NON-LOCK-UP VALVE; IF
APPLICABLE. FORWARD DRUM WITH BILLET SHAFT AND 300M INPUT
SHAFT COMPLETELY ELIMINATE SHAFT BREAKAGE FAILURES. FORWARD
DRUM IS PACKED WITH SIX RED RACING FRICTIONS, THE 3-4 DRUM
WITH SEVEN RAYBESTOS BLUE PLATE RACING FRICTIONS, AND THE
OVERDRIVE PACK WITH FOUR RED RACING FRICTIONS. ALL CLUTCH
PACKS ARE OUTFITTED WITH EXTRA CLUTCHES TO INCREASE THE
UNITS DURABILITY AND PROVIDE SUPERIOR SHIFT QUALITY.
OVERSIZED INTERMEDIATE BAND IS KEVLAR LINED AND IS ACTIVATED
BY A HIGH PERFORMANCE INTERMEDIATE SERVO ASSEMBLY. CENTER
SUPPORT, 3-4 DRUM, REAR SUPPORT, SUN SHELL, REAR RING GEAR,
FRONT CARRIER, OVERDRIVE RING GEAR, FORWARD DRUM, AND OUTPUT
SHAFT ARE MACHINED AND/OR OUTFITTED WITH HI-CAPACITY ROLLER
BEARING ASSEMBLIES WHICH REPLACE THE FAILURE PRONE FACTORY
THRUST WASHERS. THESE BEARINGS REDUCE INTERNAL FRICTION AND
HORSEPOWER LOSS CONSUMED DURING NORMAL INTERNAL COMPONENT
ROTATION AND INCREASE LOAD BEARING CAPACITY AND THRUSTING
SURFACES. CENTER SUPPORT IS FITTED WITH SOLID TEFLON SEALING
RINGS TO ELIMINATE DRUM DAMAGE AND CLUTCH FAILURE. DUAL FEED
HYDRAULICS TRIPLE CLUTCH APPLY OIL IN THIRD AND FOURTH GEAR.
INPUT SHAFT AND FORWARD DRUM ALSO FEATURE SOLID TEFLON
SEALING RINGS TO ELIMINATE INTERNAL HYDRAULIC LEAKS. VALVE
BODY IS COMPLETELY RECALIBRATED WITH NEW SEPARATOR PLATE,
ACCUMULATOR VALVE, THROTTLE VALVE AND SPRING, HIGH
PERFORMANCE THROTTLE VALVE PLUNGER ASSEMBLY, CUSTOM SHIFT
