This precision ground outer race is outfitted with a roller bearing assembly that replaces the thrust washer. This bearing reduces internal friction and horsepower loss created and consumed during normal internal component rotation. It also increases the thrust surface area between rotating components and improves power transmission.

This results in outer race failure when the hydraulic circuitry has been modified to reduce intermediate clutch slippage. A fully inspected OEM intermediate clutch outer race is treated to a proprietary stress relief process, resulting in a component suitable for high performance applications.

The OEM light and medium duty planetary carriers are fit with a rotating outer thrust washer assembly. Due to their propensity to rotate, the washers quickly erode when exposed to high thrust loads, such as those encountered in high performance street and strip applications. To increase the service life and performance of the component, the OEM heavy duty carrier is fit with a revised thrust washer assembly. Two integral locating tabs "ground' the outer washers to the carrier housing during thrust loading, prohibiting rotation, which vastly reduces washer wear. This output carrier is an excellent choice for all high load and off road vehicles which spend extended periods of time operating in reduction.
