This specially processed component is a must for extreme duty 2004R applications. OEM output shaft is treated to a proprietary nitrocarburized case hardening process which increases its fatigue strength for a major improvement in component durability. Eliminates/reduces the twisting and wear common at the splined interface between the shaft  and output yoke.
