This parts list should help anyone that is looking to compile the right parts for building a GM4L80E for mid 9 second et's.In most applications this is what will work.It is not meant to be the absolute authority on the trans,just to answer this commonly asked question so you have a direction to go in with the project

• 5 or 6 Borg Warner Hi Energy forward clutches.
• 5 or 6 Borg Warner Hi Energy direct clutches.
• 4 Borg Warner Hi Energy intermediate clutches.
• Stock steels,preferably the original Intermediate wave plate for 2nd gear.
• Aluminum clutch pistons for the forward and direct clutch packs
• A 34 element sprag and direct clutch drum with spiral retaining ring.
• An E4340 steel billet input shaft
• A billet forward clutch hub ,fitted with roller bearing if possible.
• A torrington bearing installed between the output shaft flange and case.
• Resin washer to be installed between the planetary carriers.
• Graphite seal rings for the pump and center support.
• A complete set of end play washers.
• A complete set of bushings.
• A new # 22 thrust bearing.
• A quality gasket and seal kit.
